F. Doucet Confiserie, founded in 1969 by François and Maggy Doucet, is a family-run confectioner located in Val de Durance, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. Surrounded by orchards bathed in a climate ideal for fruit production, this small company (it employs about 70 people) benefits from abundant supplies of the best local fruits and nuts. More than 70% of the fruit they use is harvested at full maturity in Provence and neighboring regions—unusual in this day and age of distant sourcing.
The confiserie, which has stayed remarkably true to its roots over time, is currently run by the Doucet's grandson. It's in the French part of Provence—a part of Provence still untouched by the English or Americans, where you can still hear the wonderful Provençal accent.
Today, F. Doucet Confiserie offers three product ranges: pralines, pâtes de fruits and fruits enrobés. They add new sweets each year to the categories.
