Reids of Caithness is a family bakery in the coastal village of Thurso, Scotland’s northernmost town. They were named Baker of the Year 2017 by Scottish Bakers.
Oats are one of the few grains that grow well in Scotland so, due to this abundance, sweet and savory oatcakes have evolved into a typical Scottish specialty. Reids makes exceptional oatcakes and biscuits with a delightful crisp texture and the nutty taste of Scottish oats grown by local crofters and farmers. Their extraordinary shortbread is made with pure Scottish butter.
Reids' oatcakes, biscuits and shortbread offer consumer-friendly packaging and a flavor profile to match (11,000 voters across Scotland can't be wrong), all made without trans-fats. The unique quality of the Scottish butter is special in the sweet products; they are wonderful with tea or hot chocolate. Each of the savory biscuits is perfect with cheese, or as a canapé with smoked salmon or pâté.
