Great wine vinegar begins with great wine, so it’s not surprising that all KL Keller vinegar selections come from producers whose wines receive consistently high ratings from noted experts. Espelt is no exception. From the more than 16 varieties of grapes grown on its 500 acres on the Emporda plain north of Barcelona, Spain, Espelt produces wines that have drawn frequent acclaim from Robert Parker and other esteemed wine critics.

This is particularly impressive because winemaking is relatively new to the Espelt family, who have been grape growers, not vintners, for generations. It all changed in 2000, when they constructed a large, state-of-the-art winery in their village and began making their own wine, rather than supplying grapes to others. The winemaker, family member Ann Espelt, has brought a fresh, international perspective to their award-winning vintages, which is also reflected in this fine vinegar.
